Context
The living room replaces the stage in the celebration of Alcione's 40-year career. In 2011, in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, the singer brings together her Banda do Sol and six guests. The concept splits the celebration between two settings: the domestic intimacy of Jam Session and the gathering at Mangueira.
Alcione opens with Duas Faces and moves through songs in French, Italian, and Spanish, alongside the Brazilian repertoire. Maria Bethânia joins her on Sem Mais Adeus; Áurea Martins steps in for Pela Rua. Emílio Santiago sings 40 Anos, Djavan joins Capim, Lenine joins Evolução, and Martinho da Vila joins Ilha de Maré, with a quote from Roda Ciranda.
The gathering arrives on CD and DVD in October 2011 through a partnership between Marrom Music and Biscoito Fino. It is the first half of a celebration that continues with Ao Vivo na Mangueira. Here, the anniversary goes beyond the hits: it makes room for personal choices, other languages, and collaborations between singers.
- Maria Bethânia and Áurea Martins share the microphones on Sem Mais Adeus and Pela Rua.
