Lenine left Recife with a guitar that sounds like percussion and an idea of song that mixes maracatu, coco, rock, electronics and poetry of strong images. He made his recording debut in 1983, alongside Lula Queiroga, but it was with O Dia em Que Faremos Contato and Na Pressão that he established his voice in the 1990s.
A songwriting partner of Braulio Tavares, Dudu Falcão and Paulo César Pinheiro, he has collected Latin Grammys and made “Paciência” and “Jack Soul Brasileiro” manifesto songs of a Brazil that is modern and regional at the same time.
