Áurea Martins

Áurea Martins was born in Campo Grande, on Rio de Janeiro's west side, and began singing professionally in the early 1960s on Rádio Nacional programs. Her debut album, O Amor em Paz, came out in 1972.

After decades singing on Rio's nightlife circuit and appearing on other artists' albums, she returned to the national scene with Até Sangrar, from 2008, which earned her the Prêmio da Música Brasileira for best female singer in 2009. In 2022, she released Senhora das Folhas.
