Context
In March 2011, Emílio Santiago brings a return to the world of dance halls to Citibank Hall in São Paulo. The singer had dedicated Só Danço Samba to Ed Lincoln, with whom he worked early in his career. Now, he turns the album's tour into the first DVD on his own label, Santiago Music.
Onstage, Santiago opens with a composition by Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes and moves through Nunca Mais and Olhou Pra Mim. Two keyboardists, acoustic guitar, bass, drums, percussion, and flugelhorn accompany the journey. Misty and Solamente Una Vez broaden the program, while The Blues Walk makes room for an instrumental number.
The closing stretch brings together a medley of Zum Zum Zum, Vou Rir de Você, and Na Onda do Berimbau before Verdade Chinesa and Saigon. The recording is released on DVD by Biscoito Fino. In 2012, the live CD receives the Latin Grammy for samba/pagode: the tribute to dance halls finds recognition beyond the dance floor.
- The Blues Walk provides an instrumental passage between Eu e a Brisa and Samba de Verão.
