Context
On August 14, 2016, Metal Allegiance takes a British stage for the first time. The gathering takes place at Bloodstock, at Catton Park, two days after the release of the EP Fallen Heroes. The tribute to recently deceased musicians finds room among the influences that shape the project.
Mark Osegueda takes the microphone, Alex Skolnick plays guitar and Mark Menghi holds down the bass, with Charlie Benante on drums. Gary Holt joins for Iron Fist and Fast as a Shark. Among Sabbath, Bowie, Motörhead and Accept, Pledge of Allegiance represents the collective's original material.
The professionally filmed performance arrives online in September 2016, preserving this specific lineup from the British debut. The story continues with Volume II: Power Drunk Majesty in 2018. Here, though, the focus remains on the meeting between an identity still taking shape and the songs that bring its members together.
- Gary Holt joins the group for covers of Iron Fist and Fast as a Shark.
