Context
On August 14, 2016, Anthrax takes the second-to-last slot on Bloodstock's main stage, before Slayer. The band celebrates 35 years together, but does not limit itself to a retrospective. For All Kings, released in February, supplies three songs for the gathering at Catton Hall in Walton-on-Trent.
You Gotta Believe opens the set and puts the recent material front and center. Joey Belladonna leads the vocals, while Scott Ian plays under the afternoon sun. Caught in a Mosh and Madhouse bring the past closer; Antisocial gets the crowd singing together, and Indians closes the performance with the audience in motion.
The festival appearance is part of a year that still holds a debut on Seth Meyers' show and a North American tour with Slayer and Death Angel. Complete professional footage circulates as early as August, preserving this slice of the For All Kings campaign. The recording captures a band celebrating its own history without sidelining the new album.
- You Gotta Believe opens the show; Indians closes the nine-song performance.
