Context
Two days after Ben Harclerode's departure is announced, Whitechapel arrives at Bloodstock with a different drummer. It is August 11, 2017, and Chason Westmoreland takes over for the band's scheduled shows. After a night at a packed Underworld in London, the group steps into the open space of Catton Park.
On the Ronnie James Dio Stage, Phil Bozeman leads the three-guitar attack of Ben Savage, Alex Wade and Zach Householder. The Saw Is the Law opens the performance; Faces and I, Dementia revisit the self-titled 2012 album. Mark of the Blade and Elitist Ones bring the latest release to the center of the set.
Let Me Burn ushers in the final stretch, and Possibilities of an Impossible Existence closes the show. After the performance, Savage still describes Westmoreland as a temporary replacement and looks ahead to writing another album the following year. The full recording preserves this period of transition: the set remains anchored in the three most recent albums, while the drum duties change hands.
