Context
It is early afternoon at Catton Park, and Brujería arrives at Bloodstock after playing in Germany the day before. Pocho Aztlan had ended sixteen years without a studio album. Now, the Make America Hate Again tour finds an immediate target in Donald Trump's presidency and border policy.
On the Ronnie James Dio Stage, the band faces a last-minute change: Adrian Erlandsson takes over on drums without rehearsal, replacing Nick Barker. Brujerizmo opens the set. Raza odiada and La migra put immigration conflicts back at the center, while Viva Presidente Trump brings the provocation up to date. Between songs, the Spanish does not always draw an immediate response from the English crowd.
After Matando güeros, Marijuana closes the set. The next dates take the band to Australia and Japan, extending the reach of this return to recording. The full festival footage preserves a performance marked by an emergency substitution and explicit political commentary: a meeting between the 1990s catalog and the tensions of 2017.
- Viva Presidente Trump brings the American politics of 2017 to the center of the show.
