Tarja Turunen

Tarja Turunen left Nightwish not as a former member but as a voice torn from a cathedral and thrown into the cold of the pop-metal world. Her solo career alternates symphonic heaviness, classical crossover, Christmas records and gothic rock experiments, always guided by a vocal presence that seems to hover above the band and, at the same time, demand darker ground from it.

Why listen to Tarja Turunen?

Her voice makes metal feel like liturgy and classical drama feel like live electricity.
