Context
At three in the afternoon on May 30, Less Than Jake takes the north stage at Megaland, in Landgraaf. Pinkpop reaches its 35th edition, and the five-piece is crossing Europe with Anthem, the album that had marked its return to a major label the year before.
Chris DeMakes and Roger Lima share vocals, with Vinnie Fiorello on drums and Buddy Schaub and JR Wasilewski on horns. Plastic Cup Politics opens the show. Welcome to the New South and The Science of Selling Yourself Short carry the recent phase, while Automatic and Johnny Quest Thinks We're Sellouts pull the set back in time.
Gainesville Rock City closes the performance, which is part of the festival's online video coverage. A few months later, the band releases B Is for B-Sides, collecting leftovers from the Anthem sessions. The Landgraaf recording preserves that interval: the album still drives the tour, but it already lives alongside a longer history.
- The Brightest Bulb Has Burned Out / Screws Fall Out leads into the final stretch with Look What Happened and Gainesville Rock City.
