Context
In May 1996, Pennywise crosses the Netherlands with About Time still its most recent record. After Amsterdam and Dynamo Open Air, the band reaches Megaland for Pinkpop's Sunday. The festival welcomes a band with three studio albums and enough songs to fill an hour on stage.
Jim Lindberg takes the microphone, Fletcher Dragge the guitar and Byron McMackin the drums. Wouldn't It Be Nice opens the way for songs from all three records. Among them, the band slips in Ben E. King, Nirvana and the Misfits. Bro Hymn brings in Rancid and other guests, returns after a pause and still leaves room for a jam.
Two months later, Jason Thirsk's death changes the group's course. Full Circle arrives in 1997 dedicated to his memory, with Randy Bradbury on bass and a new version of Bro Hymn. The Pinkpop footage preserves the song before that change of meaning: a meeting of bands, followed by Side One and Minor Threat.
- Rancid joins in on Bro Hymn, which gets a reprise before the jam session.
