Context
Early on Saturday, Fallujah faces a debut and a change of voice. It is August 12, 2017, the band's first appearance at Bloodstock. Alex Hofmann had announced his departure in July; Monte Barnard takes the microphone to keep the touring commitments.
On the Ronnie James Dio Stage, Scott Carstairs and Brian James weave guitars over Andrew Baird's drums and Robert Morey's bass. Cerebral Hybridization opens the set with aggression; Amber Gaze reveals the melodic side. Dreamless shares space with The Harvest Wombs and The Flesh Prevails.
The schedule continues through the European festivals, still in support of Dreamless. The next chapter arrives in 2019, with Undying Light and another vocalist, Antonio Palermo. The Bloodstock recording remains a document of this interim period: a festival debut held together by the instrumental core, with the vocalist position in transition.
- Cerebral Hybridization and Amber Gaze bring the band's aggression and melodic side together.
