Context
On June 8, 2014, Editors takes the main stage in Landgraaf between Ed Sheeran and Arctic Monkeys. The slot finds a band with wide reach in the Netherlands, but still in transformation: The Weight of Your Love had opened its catalog without guitarist Chris Urbanowicz.
Nothing opens the set in a reworked version. The Racing Rats and An End Has a Start pull the setlist back to the early years, while Formaldehyde, Honesty and Sugar hold up the fourth album's presence. Tom Smith leads twelve songs, and Papillon gets an extension that takes up the show's final stretch.
After Landgraaf, the schedule takes the group to Malaysia, where it plays on June 14. In October, the musicians regroup in Scotland to work on the follow-up, In Dream. The Pinkpop recording preserves that interval: the first record after the lineup change still sets the center of the stage.
- Papillon closes the show in an extended version.
