Context
In April 2001, Olympia hosts Daniel for two performances that turn his solo career into cinema onstage. Four years after João Paulo's death, the singer brings together the duo's memory and the identity he is building on his own. Sertanejo remains at the center, but shares space with romantic songs.
Onstage, Daniel sings surrounded by dancers, sets, and projected images. The staging takes on blockbuster scale, with choreography that interacts with the singer. The project's repertoire spans the duo's hits, caipira classics, and covers of other performers, making the contrast between these strands the show's central thread.
The April 26 and 27 performances are captured on film and become the singer's first solo DVD. Warner releases it later in 2001, accompanied by the live album. More than a collection of hits, the recording captures the transition between a shared past and a career that already takes the stage under its own name.
