Daniel — Father’s Day Live Special
Recorded August 10, 2017
Cine São José · Brotas ·
Brazil
“To see Daniel celebrate Father’s Day in the movie theater he restored in his hometown.”
Context
Before reaching screens online, Daniel’s voice already had a history at that address. The Cine São José building housed Rádio Brotense, where he sang as a child. On August 10, 2017, the singer returns to the space to celebrate Father’s Day.
Onstage in his hometown, Daniel leads a special performance streamed on Gazin Colchões’ Facebook page. The gathering takes place in Brotas, in the interior of São Paulo state, but also reaches those watching from afar. The tribute fills a movie theater that the artist himself bought and restored, preserving its architecture.
Four days after the performance, the recording arrives on YouTube and remains available as an archive of the special. It is another musical chapter for the space, which reopened in 2009 with a preview screening of O Menino da Porteira. The place where Daniel began singing continues to serve as a stage for his reunions with Brotas.
