Brujería formed in Los Angeles in 1989, with an identity rooted in the Latino community and Spanish-language lyrics about immigration, politics, and drug trafficking. The debut album, Matando Güeros, came out in 1993; Raza Odiada, from 1995, broadened the band's reach with La Ley de Plomo. After a hiatus and lineup changes, the band returned to recording albums with Pocho Aztlan (2016) and released Esto Es Brujeria in 2023.
