Context
On the shore of the Fühlinger See, a regatta course changes function for three days. Summerjam reaches its 32nd edition in 2017 and brings together reggae, dancehall and hip-hop in Cologne. On July 1, Alpha Blondy takes his African-rooted reggae to this European gathering.
On stage, two guitars share space with bass, drums, keyboards, saxophone, trumpet and two backing vocalists. Psaume 23 opens the way for Jerusalem. The singer brings Rainbow in the Sky and No Brain, No Headache close to earlier titles, while Multipartisme and Peace in Liberia keep politics at the center of the route.
Near the close, Wish You Were Here adds Pink Floyd to the selection. The festival set lives on in Rockpalast's programming, which airs the recording in July of that year. Television keeps a gathering of phases: the set is not limited to Positive Energy, his most recent studio work at the time.
- Wish You Were Here brings a Pink Floyd song into the singer's repertoire.
