Seydou Koné was born in Dimbokro, Ivory Coast, and adopted the name Alpha Blondy when he began his music career. His first album, Jah Glory, came out in 1982; Cocody Rock, from 1984, consolidated his profile, and Jerusalem, recorded with the Wailers, arrived in 1986. In 1992, Masada broadened his international reach. Since then, Blondy has kept releasing records and performing, without ending his career.
