Yes — Union Tour
Recording year unknown
Setlist not available.
Tour albumUnion1991 · Union TourThe tour promotes Union and brings together the eight members involved in the merger of Yes and Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe.“To see the eight-member reunion on Yes's only tour with this expanded lineup.”
Context
Two paths of Yes lead to the same stage. After the split between Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe and the lineup that kept the band's name, Union turns separate projects into a reunion of eight musicians. The 1991 and 1992 tour takes this convergence on the road.
The circular stage puts the reunion at the center of the arena. Jon Anderson takes the vocals; Steve Howe and Trevor Rabin share the guitars. Chris Squire holds down the bass, while Rick Wakeman and Tony Kaye split the keyboards. Bill Bruford and Alan White complete the lineup with two drum kits and percussion.
The experiment is short-lived: the tour ends Bruford's time in Yes. Its recordings take different paths, between professional footage and audience recordings. Part of this material reaches the release Union Live and, decades later, the Union 30 Live project. The reunion survives on film, without becoming a permanent lineup.
