Context
In 2013, Whitechapel's Bloodstock debut drew boos from part of a thrash-oriented crowd. On August 10, 2024, the scene is different: the band returns to the Ronnie James Dio stage to a warm reception, between Deicide and Malevolence on Saturday's main-stage bill.
Phil Bozeman opens with Let Me Burn and follows with Forgiveness Is Weakness as the pit opens up in front of the stage. Ben Savage, Alex Wade and Zach Householder handle the three guitars, with Gabe Crisp on bass and Brandon Zackey on drums. Four consecutive tracks from The Valley precede a dive into the early albums.
Kin is still the latest studio album, but its only appearance is A Bloodsoaked Symphony. The following month, A Visceral Retch paves the way for Hymns in Dissonance, which arrives in March 2025. The full festival recording preserves this interval: the band revisits its catalog before introducing the next chapter.
- Four consecutive songs from The Valley form the first major stretch after the opening.
