Context
On a Saturday afternoon at Catton Park, Unleash the Archers has about 45 minutes to win over Bloodstock. It is August 10, 2024, three months after the arrival of Phantoma. The Canadian band brings the new album but shares the space with songs from its three previous records.
Abyss clears the way for Brittney Slayes's high notes and Grant Truesdell's growls. Ghosts in the Mist and Green & Glass introduce the recent material; Awakening and The Matriarch revisit Apex. During the closing Tonight We Ride, Truesdell and Andrew Kingsley cross over, playing each other's instruments.
The group announces plans to return to the UK in 2025. The full recording begins circulating in January of that year, preserving the festival appearance without turning the afternoon into an extensive retrospective. Seven songs and four albums: a compact snapshot of a band presenting Phantoma while keeping its earlier chapters in motion.
- Tonight We Ride ends with the guitarists playing each other's instruments.
