Context
On August 12, 2016, the Ronnie James Dio Stage hosts a farewell: Twisted Sister closes Friday at Bloodstock during Forty and F*ck It. A.J. Pero's death the previous year left a gap in the lineup. Mike Portnoy takes the drum seat alongside the four veterans.
Dee Snider leads the crowd from What You Don't Know to the choruses of I Wanna Rock and We're Not Gonna Take It. Jay Jay French, Eddie Ojeda and Mark Mendoza anchor the journey through the early albums. Before The Price, the celebration makes room to remember Pero, Dio, Jimmy Bain and Lemmy.
The encore culminates in S.M.F., after Come Out and Play and Shoot 'Em Down. The tour continues through November in Monterrey, where that farewell chapter ends. Bloodstock itself releases the full footage in August, preserving the British goodbye without reducing the night to the two biggest hits.
- The Price pauses the celebration to pay tribute to Pero, Dio, Jimmy Bain and Lemmy.
