Context
On June 5, 1995, Slash reaches Pinkpop's north stage with a new band and a record released only a few months earlier. Guns N' Roses was on hiatus when the ideas took shape at the Snakepit, his home studio. Now the project faces the European festivals with an identity of its own.
Eric Dover takes the microphone, while Slash and Gilby Clarke split the guitars. James LoMenzo and Brian Tichy fill the spots of Mike Inez and Matt Sorum on the road. Doin' Fine opens a run of ten songs; Cure Me... or Kill Me... brings Clarke's repertoire into the set.
Beggars & Hangers-On closes the show, after nine tracks from the first album. The tour continues through Europe and reaches South America, but this lineup is short-lived: the band breaks up after the debut cycle. The recording remains in Pinkpop's audiovisual archive, preserving this first chapter.
- Cure Me... or Kill Me... makes room for Gilby Clarke's solo career.
