Context
Candles surround a small recording space in Nashville. It is in this setting that Miranda Lambert scales down Revolution, the 2009 album that widens her presence in country music. The idea trades the full band for three musicians and brings the songs closer to a studio conversation.
At Sound Emporium, Lambert sings and plays acoustic guitar alongside Scotty Wray, who also handles backing vocals, and Aden Bubeck on upright bass. White Liar opens the sequence. Dead Flowers and The House That Built Me share space with Love Song and Heart Like Mine, with no drums in the lineup.
Love Is Looking for You closes the session and builds the bridge to Kerosene, her major-label debut. The session gets a DVD release in October 2010, along with stories about the songs. Lambert's first video release of performances chooses closeness over the size of an arena.
