Context
On August 14, 2022, Killing Joke arrives at Bloodstock for the first time, more than four decades after forming. The appearance takes place at Catton Park, before Lamb of God. Months earlier, the Lord of Chaos EP had ended a seven-year stretch without new material.
Jaz Coleman sets up Wardance by talking about a third world war. Geordie Walker, Youth and Paul Ferguson anchor the original core, while Roi Robertson adds keyboards. The set connects Requiem and Eighties to the heaviness of The Death and Resurrection Show; Money Is Not Our God introduces a hypnotic passage.
Pandemonium closes the sixteen-song set, which leaves no room for the newly released EP. The festival makes the full performance available in November that year, preserving this encounter between post-punk and a metal audience. The recording captures all four founders together, following their 2008 reunion, and documents their appearance on the Bloodstock stage.
- Roi Robertson expands the lineup on keyboards, alongside Coleman, Walker, Youth and Ferguson.
