Context
Between Decapitated and Sepultura, Sunday, August 13 makes room for a different kind of heaviness at Catton Park. Ugly Kid Joe makes its Bloodstock debut with Rad Wings of Destiny still fresh. After seven years without a studio album, the band arrives with new material to share space with its 1990s hits.
That Ain't Livin' opens the set on the Ronnie James Dio Stage. Whitfield Crane leads Neighbor in the sunshine and sits at center stage to sing Cat's in the Cradle with the crowd. Near the end, Andreas Kisser joins in for Ace of Spades; Everything About You closes the encounter with a collective singalong.
After Catton Park, the schedule moves on to Huddersfield and Southampton, keeping the band on the road through the European summer. The festival's professional recording is released in full in August 2024. The footage preserves a debut that brings the group's hard rock closer to the heavier metal around it without erasing their differences.
