Dolly Parton — Live in Los Angeles
Recording year unknown
Greek Theatre · Los Angeles ·
United States
Setlist not available.
“For Dolly Parton's meeting with the Greek Theatre, a historic open-air amphitheater in Los Angeles.”
Context
On the slopes of Griffith Park, Los Angeles is home to an open-air stage whose story begins in 1930. The Greek Theatre was born from a project funded by the legacy of Griffith J. Griffith. It is in this amphitheater, set into the park's landscape, that Dolly Parton performs.
Dolly is at the center of an hour-long recording, identified as the first act of the show. That cut defines the experience: there is no confirmation that it matches the whole night. The date also remains open, which makes it impossible to tie the stage safely to a specific tour or album.
The recording's later history still has gaps. No VHS, DVD or film release is confirmed for this material, nor is there a reliable identification of the backing musicians. What remains is the documented meeting between Dolly and a historic Los Angeles concert address, without a timeline that would justify turning this fragment into a career retrospective.
