Context
In August 2004, London hosts three nights of the Life for Rent tour at the Brixton Academy. Dido arrives with two albums to carry the stage: No Angel had opened the way, and the second album widened that reach. The film gathers these performances rather than fixing a single night.
Stoned opens the sequence, and Here with Me brings the two chapters of this repertoire together. Dido sings backed by guitar, bass, keyboards, drums and percussion. Nine songs from Life for Rent share space with eight from No Angel; Thank You and White Flag appear in the home stretch, before the close with See the Sun.
In 2005, the performances get an official DVD release, with a CD of twelve tracks in a partly different order. The film keeps all seventeen songs and turns the Brixton stand into a document of the tour. It is the first two albums, still side by side, that define this stage portrait.
