Context
On February 3, 2026, Piano Day arrives early at the Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers. Joep Beving records his recital for ARTE's celebration while Liminal is still awaiting release. The session captures that gap: the new music already fills the stage, but has not yet reached the public on record.
Alone at the piano, Beving opens with Incantation in B-Flat Minor and moves through Pax before developing Arcadia. The program gathers ten pieces, among them Wild Renaissance, Heterotopia and Solitude. With no other players, the recital concentrates on the keys its spaced-out melodies and the economy of gesture that guides this contemplative writing.
In March, Liminal arrives on Deutsche Grammophon, inspired by Guillaume Logé's book Wild Renaissance and its links between creation and nature. The recital circulates through ARTE's Piano Day programming and also on STAGE+. It remains a portrait of the album before it reached stores.
- Incantation in B-Flat Minor opens the recital; Hanging D closes the run of ten pieces.
