Context
In October 2025, singers from different countries meet in Vienna to prepare a single score. The Mozart Requiem Festival combines intensive rehearsals, exchange and a public performance. At the gathering's second edition, the Minoritenkirche hosts a program that sets Mozart beside a new choral-orchestral work by Christoph Ehrenfellner.
Leading the Capella Colombo and the international choir assembled by the festival, Ehrenfellner conducts the Requiem as the third and final part of the concert. Nicola Proksch, Anna Manske, Jan Petryka and Jan Martinik take the solos. The sequence moves through Requiem aeternam, Dies irae and Lacrymosa until it reaches the Communio, which closes the performance.
After the in-person gathering, the footage by Manon Pichon, Reinhard Schafek and Michael Heislbetz preserves this meeting of musicians. The recording separates the Requiem from the rest of the program and keeps its complete sequence. It documents the result of a temporary project: voices arriving from different places and coming together around the same work.
- The Requiem brings together the Capella Colombo and soloists Nicola Proksch, Anna Manske, Jan Petryka and Jan Martinik.
