Context
On February 4, 2025, Nantes hosts an early celebration of ten years of Piano Day. Created by Nils Frahm in 2015, the initiative devotes the 88th day of the year to the piano. At LAB, Büşra Kayıkçı takes part in the sixth edition organized by ARTE Concert.
At the piano, the Turkish composer opens with The Middle of Nowhere and moves through Kuledibi to Deep Seated Arrogance. Fernweh and Tribute to Egyptian Song bring the recital close to Places, a work that links composition and architecture. Between these pieces, Madde 42 and Doğum widen the journey; Night Walk closes the performance.
After the February recording, the recital becomes part of the Piano Day 2025 audiovisual program. ARTE keeps the film available until March 2027, extending the life of these pieces beyond the records. The collective celebration takes on an individual scale here: one pianist and eight pieces.
