Context
In August 2024, Eternal Champion's Bloodstock debut carries the weight of a recent loss. Brad Raub, the bassist on Ravening Iron, died in May at 36. On August 9, the band takes the Sophie Lancaster stage at Catton Park and dedicates the performance to their bandmate.
Jason Tarpey stomps across the stage in chain mail, while John Powers and Arthur Rizk anchor the guitars. Skullseeker opens the attack; Ravening Iron sets the gallop in motion. Between fantasy and physical heaviness, the set brings together five songs from the second album and three from The Armor of Ire.
After Bloodstock, the European schedule continues at Alcatraz in Belgium. The full recording begins circulating in January 2025, preserving eight songs in just over forty minutes. A Face in the Glare, the opening track on Ravening Iron, closes a night where fantasy also makes room for remembrance.
