“To see Devin Townsend at Graspop's return after two years of cancellations, in the postponed anniversary edition.”
Context
After two years of cancellations, Dessel hosts Graspop's postponed 25th-edition anniversary. On June 18, 2022, Devin Townsend takes the Marquee during this comeback. Lightwork is still to come, but the night looks back, gathering different chapters of his music.
Townsend sings and plays guitar with Stephen Platt, James Leach and Darby Todd, keeping the lineup used in 2021. Failure opens the sequence; Kingdom and By Your Command follow. Aftermath brings Strapping Young Lad to the center, while Deadhead and Deep Peace carry the next stretch.
March of the Poozers sets up the finale with Love?, another trip through Strapping Young Lad. The next day, Townsend heads to Hellfest; in November, Lightwork arrives. The broadcast preserves this gap between the return of festivals and the next album, with the past still holding the stage.
- Aftermath and Love? bring Strapping Young Lad into the 2022 lineup's set.
