Context
Close to midnight on June 20, 2026, Cult of Luna takes the Valley stage in Clisson. The band arrives at Hellfest between two records: The Long Road North is still the latest album, while In the Shadow of Your Shadow already announces the next chapter.
Cold Burn opens the set, and the title track of the upcoming album follows right after. The run has only six songs in 57 minutes: I: The Weapon, Leave Me Here and In Awe Of lead up to Blood Upon Stone. The selection leaves room for long compositions, without turning the festival slot into a collection of fragments.
ARTE Concert’s cameras turn this pass through the Valley into a record for television and online viewing. The next milestone is November, with the announced release of In the Shadow of Your Shadow. The show sits in that gap: the band already brings a song from the next record to the stage, but hands the opening and the finale to the previous one.
- In the Shadow of Your Shadow comes in as the second song of the night.
