Context
The This House Is Not for Sale tour brings Bon Jovi back to Rock in Rio in September 2019. Parque Olímpico hosts the band on the festival's third night. The tour's album makes room among older hits, in a show where Jon Bon Jovi shares some vocal moments with his bandmates.
This House Is Not for Sale starts the performance, followed by Born to Be My Baby and Lost Highway. David Bryan takes over In These Arms. On Bad Medicine, Everett Bradley sings the second verse. Bed of Roses and Wanted Dead or Alive come with vocal limitations noted in the night's coverage, even with the crowd joining in.
Always replaces I'll Be There for You in the encore, before Livin' on a Prayer closes the set. The change gives the performance a choice of its own within the Brazilian leg. The recording shows the catalog carried by a band that redistributes roles on stage, while the singer negotiates the demands of songs that have spanned decades.
