Context
Billy Corgan takes Ogilala to NPR's Tiny Desk in 2017. The performance pairs the Pumpkins' singer with a string quartet, in a meeting that puts his songwriting first.
Tonight, Tonight opens the session and revisits the band's repertoire. Aeronaut and Mandarynne present the solo album. Corgan alternates guitar and piano, while two violins, viola and cello build the accompaniment.
Posted in November, the session preserves this meeting with musicians Corgan had met just a few hours before. The recording belongs to his solo career, not to a Smashing Pumpkins show, although the opening song draws a direct line to the group.
