Arctic Monkeys formed in High Green, Sheffield, in 2002 and rose to prominence with Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, a debut that reached the top of the British charts in 2006.

Favourite Worst Nightmare consolidated the success, while Humbug and Suck It and See marked changes in sound. With AM, the band reached an even larger audience; later, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino and The Car brought more restrained arrangements and lounge and orchestral rock influences.
