Context
A last-minute opening brings KK's Priest to Bloodstock on August 13, 2023. Helloween cancels its appearance because of Michael Kiske's laryngitis. After playing in Belgium on Saturday, the band arrives at Catton Park to take the slot before Megadeth on Sunday.
K.K. Downing shares guitar duties with A.J. Mills, while Tim Ripper Owens handles vocals. Hellfire Thunderbolt opens a path between original material and the past in Judas Priest. Burn in Hell revisits Owens' era; Breaking the Law gets the crowd moving before Victim of Changes closes the set.
The performance also looks ahead: One More Shot at Glory and Reap the Whirlwind preview The Sinner Rides Again, which arrives in September. In December, the full professionally filmed performance becomes publicly available. The recording captures a band still establishing its live identity without abandoning the history its members carry.
- Burn in Hell brings Ripper Owens back to a song from his time in Judas Priest.
