Context
After the heaviness of Lamb of God on the main stage, Sunday's final destination is a tent filled with melodic rock. On August 14, 2022, The Night Flight Orchestra closes Bloodstock on the Sophie Lancaster Stage. The performance follows a two-year wait to play the festival.
Björn Strid wears a white suit and gold cape, while How Long clears the way for the synthesizers of Divinyls. Rasmus Ehrnborn takes over guitar duties from David Andersson, and Pontus Egberg fills in on bass for Sharlee D'Angelo. Between choruses and dancing, the band also plays the newly released single Black Stars and Diamonds.
White Jeans and West Ruth Ave are saved for the encore, when a conga line winds through the tent. The farewell trades metal's pressure for collective movement without sacrificing the size of the choruses. The full recording remains an audiovisual document of the festival: an hour-long closing set where dancing takes center stage.
- West Ruth Ave ends with a conga line crossing the tent.
