Context
Four years separate the debut on the Sophie Lancaster Stage from this return to Catton Park. On August 9, 2026, Orbit Culture take the Ronnie James Dio Stage, Bloodstock's main stage. The change of scale coincides with the festival's 25th anniversary and the Death Above Life era.
Niklas Karlsson takes vocals and guitar alongside Richard Hansson, Fredrik Lennartsson and Christopher Wallerstedt. Death Above Life opens an eight-song sequence that also runs through Nija, Descent and The Forgotten. Near the end, Hydra is stopped for medical help in the crowd. Vultures Of North closes the show after the pause.
In September, the full performance is released with the collaboration of the band and its crew. The quartet itself mixes the audio, taking a direct part in the recording's fate. The film preserves both the step up to the bigger stage and the interruption: two concrete events of an important afternoon in this journey.
- Hydra is stopped for medical help in the crowd before the close with Vultures Of North.
