KK's Priest formed in 2019, when guitarist K. K. Downing, after leaving Judas Priest, brought together vocalist Tim “Ripper” Owens and other musicians connected to the band. The group released Sermons of the Sinner in 2021 and The Sinner Rides Again in 2023, revisiting the heavy metal sounds associated with Downing's career. The lineup remained active and had released two studio albums by that point.
