“To see Dhu and Sandra capture their partnership at Maison de France, with Regina Chaves joining the Frenéticas reunion.”
Context
Before Frenéticas, there was theater: Dhu Moraes and Sandra Pêra met in Pobre Menina Rica in 1972. In January 2018, the two bring that history to Maison de France in Rio. The show, touring since 2016, weaves together stage memories and songs spanning their careers.
Written and directed by Rodrigo Faour, the show finds the duo singing Perigosa, moving through Aquarius, and welcoming Carlos Lyra for Primavera. Eduardo Dussek joins them for Vesúvio. Mimi Lessa handles the arrangements and leads the band on guitar; at the close, Regina Chaves joins her former bandmates for Marron Glacê and Dancin' Days.
The recording is released on DVD by Biscoito Fino in 2019. It preserves more than a collection of hits: it connects the memory of Frenéticas with later choices, such as Ainda Bem and Eu Vou Fazer uma Macumba pra Te Amarrar, Maldito. Their story continues beyond the dance floor.
- Carlos Lyra sings Primavera; Eduardo Dussek joins them for Vesúvio.
- Regina Chaves joins the closing medley of Marron Glacê and Dancin' Days.
