Context
In August 2018, Almério arrives at Teatro de Santa Isabel after taking Desempena to Brazilian and Portuguese cities and winning the Prêmio da Música Brasileira for Breakthrough Singer. The Recife stage, where he presents his second album the previous year, now hosts the recording of a show honed on the road.
Irandhir Santos's voice defines desempenar in the opening. Almério enters with the title track and weaves his own songs together with those of close collaborators, including Juliano Holanda, Isabela Moraes, and Martins. Flutes, fifes, bass, and percussion underpin the journey. In Androginismo, projections from Verde Limão connect the song to a denunciation of violence against LGBTQIA+ bodies.
The recording takes time to reach the public. Scheduled for 2019, it makes way for Acaso Casa, a project with Mariene de Castro, and receives a digital release in July 2020. Produced with Atos, Canal Brasil, Biscoito Fino, and Fábrica Estúdios, it preserves a decisive stage: the meeting of bodily affirmation and a network of songwriters from Pernambuco.
- Androginismo meets the images of Verde Limão and makes its stand against violence toward LGBTQIA+ bodies explicit.
