Context
On October 10, 2017, Festival do Rio makes room for music at Teatro Rival Petrobras. The first night of the Rio, Pipoca e Biscoito project features separate performances by Fabiana Cozza and Alcione. For Cozza, the connection with cinema runs through the world of Bola de Nieve.
The singer presents Ay Amor alongside Cuban pianist Pepe Cisneros. Only voice and piano share the stage, the same lineup as the project dedicated to the singer and composer. La vie en rose builds a bridge to Piaf: Um Hino ao Amor and fits the program's cinematic theme.
The show had already led to the studio album Ay Amor, released that year by Biscoito Fino. The performance at Rival is also captured on video. In 2018, the album receives the Prêmio da Música Brasileira in the foreign-language category, extending the journey of this Cuban tribute performed as a duo.
