Born in Rio de Janeiro, Sandra Pêra performed in musicals before becoming one of the voices of As Frenéticas, a group that began at Nelson Motta's nightclub and rose to prominence with Dancin’ Days, Perigosa, and A Felicidade Bate à Sua Porta.
She left the group in the early 1980s and released a self-titled solo album in 1983. After decades without a solo album, she returned to recording with Sandra Pêra em Belchior in 2021, dedicated to the composer's repertoire.
