“To see Moyseis Marques record his first DVD in Rio's suburbs, celebrating twenty years in music.”
Context
Rio's suburbs are the meeting place for a celebration of twenty years in music. In 2017, Moyseis Marques brings Passatempo to Imperator and prepares his first career DVD. Ten years after his solo debut album, the songwriter puts his collaborations center stage.
João Martins joins the host on Poeta É Outro Lance. Kiko Horta appears on Madeixa and Xodó de Lamparina, and stays for Amor de Sabiá, with Marcelo Mimoso. Laila Garin joins in on Juntando Cacos. Between sambas and forrós, Moyseis also makes room for Is This Love and Mambembe, while keeping his own songwriting at the core.
The road to release involves crowdfunding and two years of work. In 2019, the performance arrives on CD and DVD through Biscoito Fino, with different selections from the repertoire. The release adds Subúrbio as a studio duet with Chico Buarque: an encounter separate from the night captured on the recording.
- Laila Garin shares Juntando Cacos with Moyseis; João Martins guests on Poeta É Outro Lance.
