Album featured at the showDepontacabeça2010The repertoire revisits songs from Depontacabeça, including Bola no bola, Penúltimo desejo and Via crucis.“To see Áurea Martins record her first DVD without an audience, celebrating fifty years of her career.”
Context
Without an audience, a singer shaped by Rio's nightlife takes over the studio for her first DVD. In April 2011, Áurea Martins brings together in Iluminante part of the ground covered over fifty years of her career. Até sangrar and Depontacabeça had put her voice back into circulation; now, this phase also takes visual form.
Lucas Porto handles the arrangements and acoustic guitar, surrounded by piano, bass, mandolin, winds, drums and percussion. Áurea shares Via crucis with Vidal Assis and welcomes Terra Trio for a medley spanning Ilusão à toa and Nada por mim. On Pela rua, she sings unaccompanied; on Maninha, she joins Chico Buarque.
Fernanda Montenegro's narration opens this celebration, directed by Hermínio Bello de Carvalho and Gustavo Genzsburger. The recording airs as a special on Canal Brasil in February 2012 and arrives on DVD in July through Biscoito Fino. The experience of small stages finds a lasting medium, without having to simulate a full house.
- Chico Buarque shares Maninha with Áurea; Vidal Assis joins her on Via crucis.
- Pela rua drops the accompaniment and leaves the voice alone.
