Context
In April 2015, Teatro da UFF hosts three nights dedicated to Arthur Maia's work. The bassist brings musicians and collaborators together to turn his solo career into an audiovisual recording. The project begins under the name O Tempo e a Música and combines pieces from that album with earlier work.
Arthur handles the arrangements and musical direction, surrounded by piano, keyboards, guitars, saxophone and percussion. Hey Jude and Brejeiro share space with Macabu and Frevo do Compadre. Ivan Lins sings A Noite; Seu Jorge joins in on Alívio, a collaboration between Arthur and Djavan. These encounters put faces to the bassist's musical relationships.
The recording's fate changes with Arthur's death in December 2018. He had followed the process but did not live to see the completed DVD. In 2019, Biscoito Fino releases Ao Vivo on DVD and as a digital album. Conceived as a gathering of friends, the project also comes to preserve a farewell.
- Ivan Lins joins in on A Noite, and Seu Jorge sings Alívio.
