Context
A chair onstage offers support to a body still recovering. In March 2007, Elza Soares arrives at Sesc Vila Mariana after a hospital stay that postponed the recording. Beba-me had premiered the previous year, drawing on research by Rodrigo Faour that revisited sambas from her discography.
Elza works between the weight of the horns and the freedom of her voice. In Pra quê discutir com madame?, she adds her own commentary to the character; in Pranto Livre, she dispenses with the microphone. Volta por cima and Fadas meet at a tango tempo. José Miguel Wisnik takes the piano for Flores horizontais, opening up another space in the program.
The show is released on CD and DVD by Biscoito Fino later in 2007 and also airs on Canal Brasil. It is Elza's debut in this audiovisual format, without leaving behind recent songs such as A carne. The recording preserves that tension: a deliberate return to samba, sustained by a singer who does not treat the past as a museum piece.
- José Miguel Wisnik accompanies Flores horizontais on piano.
- Volta por cima and Fadas form a tango medley.
