Seu Jorge

Seu Jorge came out of urban harshness to become a kind of sunlit chronicler of Brazil: samba, soul, funk and streetwise swagger talking without asking permission. After Farofa Carioca, he launched a solo career with a woody voice, irony and tenderness.

Between the favela hillside, cinema, Bowie in Portuguese and the national barbecue, he built a popular body of work that knows how to smile without hiding the hardness of the street.

Why listen to Seu Jorge?

Few artists make Brazilian life sound so bitter, warm and irresistibly singable.
